Venison. Wild Venison Steaks With Bourbon BBQ Recipe, to be more specific. Early man (and woman) caught sight of these majestic creatures as they charged thunderously across the wild plains and prehistoric forests of North America. A primal urge - an inner voice of ravished hunger for something more substantial than leaves and twigs - enticed our ancestors to create sharp objects and dispatch what would soon become "BBQ." Sadly, over the centuries many dinner plates as well as preparers of food have forgotten about this wild and wonderful "feast-of-beast." Be bold, dear friends. Bring this wild taste of antiquity back to your own modern dinner tables.
Ingredients
4 steaks, 1" thick from a recently dispatched wild harvested (organic) deer. Species not important.
-
1/2 cup fine bourbon
1 organic onion, chopped
1/2 organic lemon
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
Directions
Marinate steaks in a large dish for 6 hours.
Grill direct over coals on high heat until rare/medium rare. Do not cook past medium rare.
Eat with hands, sharp sticks, or simply serve more elegantly on dinnerware.
Recipe Note
Feast like the warrior you are. Serve remaining bourbon to friends and family while enjoying nature's bounty. Hunt and gather responsibly.
