Best Bourbon Eggnog
Nothing says "holiday" and "winter" more than eggnog. Why is this old-world cocktail called "eggnog?". Some say the word eggnog derives from a medieval word for strong beer. perhaps it derives from the word "noggin", a very old word used to describe a small tin cup. Some say the name eggnog is similar to a variety of alcohol-based drinks collectively called "grogs"

- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup sugar, divided
Grated nutmeg (garnish)
2 eggs (separate whites and yolks in two bowls)
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup (8oz), Cavehill bourbon by Rabbit Hole
Optional: Cinnamon stick and star anise (whole) for presentation & holiday look.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks with 3 tablespoons of sugar until fluffy and frothy. You can use an electric hand mixer or a whisk.
Stir in the whole milk, heavy cream and Cavehill Four-grain Straight Bourbon Whiskey by Rabbit Hole
In another bowl, beat the egg whites with the remaining 1 tablespoon of sugar until soft peaks form. Again, you may use an electric hand mixer or whisk for this step. Take caution to stop beating once stiff peaks form, do not over-mix.
Now fold the egg whites into the egg yolk mixture. Do not stir, simply “fold”
Divide between four rocks glasses.
Garnish as desired with freshly grated nutmeg. May also add cinnamon stick and star anise whole.
