The bourbon sidecar uses four grain bourbon instead of brandy, which is what the original sidecar uses. It is a refreshing cocktail that can replace Sunday brunch mimosas, or enjoyed anytime. Impress your guests with this simple yet complex tasting cocktail thanks to Cavehill Four Grain Bourbon.
Ingredients

2 ounces of a premium four grain bourbon
½ ounce lemon juice
1 ounce Cointreau
Lemon twist or lemon peel (garnish)
1 teaspoon simple syrup (bonus simple syrup recipe in notes below)
Directions
Place all ingredients (including four grain bourbon) in a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice and shake until cold.
Strain the drink into a rocks glass or champagne glass. Garnish with a lemon twist or orange twist.
Recipe Note
Consider rubbing the rim of the glass with lemon wedge and then adding sugar to a saucer and rolling the glass rim in it to create an ultra-refreshing bourbon sidecar cocktail with beautiful presentation!
SIMPLE SYRUP
- 1/2 cup pure (organic) cane sugar
- 1/2 cup of spring water, or Kentucky limestone filtered water
SIMPLE SYRUP DIRECTIONS
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water on medium heat and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Once cool, transfer to mason jar and place in fridge.
