Negroni

The Negroni is an easy to make cocktail and many find it to be bitter, but in all the right ways. It is refreshing, and crisp with a hint of orange. Tales of the Negroni origin start in antiquity in the city of Florence by the Italian court Camillo Negroni sometime around the early 20th century. It is said that while Camillo was at a fine spirits establishment in Florence, he asked that the barkeep fortify his favorite drink (the Americano) by adding gin. The bartender complied with his wishes, and after creating this new drink - replaced the lemon peel common in the Americano with an orange peel. Voila! A classic is born - the Negroni.
